Feel Good About Yourself

All of us when we feel good about ourselves know it. We feel it. It is as if every piece of knowledge that has ever been absorbed into our bodies is being used perfectly. It is as if our complete being is fully energised and synchronised. We find ourselves in every moment and in every movement to be fluidly efficient and effortlessly excellent at the task at hand .

When feeling good about ourselves it is as if our thoughts, actions and emotions combine and just flow seamlessly into each and every thing that we feel, think, say or do.

Amazing as it may, or may not, seem to you but from exactly the position you are in right now it is perfectly possible for you to feel this good about yourself. You have it within you. Working together with me it is easily possible to learn, in actual fact re-learn, how, and that knowledge, once re-kindled, will remain available to you forever.

When you feel good about yourself you 

  • simply feel better
  • and then do things better
  • and then give yourself the opportunity of being the best you can be

irrespective of the everyday trials and tribulations which you may have to face.

Perhaps you don’t feel so certain about any of this just now, so just as an exercise to help you, take a few minutes to read the paragraph below and as you do, allow yourself to simply follow the instructions, one step after another, in your own time.

You might find it useful to read through the whole paragraph once before starting and if you should do so, decide quickly on the choice element that is included as it is important to realise that it is the actual doing of the exercise which makes it effective rather than the perfection of the ‘choice’.

“Feel Good About Yourself” Free Personal Exercise

Take a slow, comfortable, deep breath in. As you feel the air coming into your body at the same time notice the feeling of relaxation that comes in with it. When ready and comfortable slowly and calmly breathe out in your own time. Next just as comfortably you like, breathe in again, in the same relaxed way noticing the relaxation again coming in with the breath. Once again, as comfortable as you like, in your own time, breathe out calmly and comfortably. Next as you breathe in, in the same comfortable way, recall from some time which isn’t now, a memory, of anywhere or any time where you felt comfortable, at ease, relaxed, at your best and enjoy the sensations of the air as you breathe in mixing with the memory of where you felt comfortable, at ease, relaxed, at your best and in your own time, when you decide, breathe out, comfortably allowing the air to go and the feelings of comfort to remain.

Re-read and repeat the paragraph above at least 3 times.

Then continue in your own time, at your pace, to breathe in and breathe out. Re-visiting as you wish on each in breath your memory of comfort and ease, allowing the positive feelings on each out breath to remain. Continue with the cycle of  breathe in and breathe out until a time of your choosing. When you wish you can simply focus on some other activity and continue on with your day.

Whenever you wish to feel good about yourself you can simply do this exercise, it can be done anywhere, at any time of your choosing but in moments of stress it can be helpful to be able  to just read the instructions and follow them, so feel free to copy the exercise so you can have it to hand whenever you need it.
