Two Lists – Hopes and Fears

I am a Hypnotherapist & NLP Practitioner. I am qualified to work with people across the complete spectrum of issues that Hypnotherapy & NLP can assist with. I have many years of experience of working with people of all ages and abilities to achieve their goals. I have a particular interest in assisting people to feel good about themselves particularly if they feel anxious or are unhappy about their own thoughts, behaviours or actions in any way.

What I Do Explained In 3 Sentences

Stress and Anxiety issues, are medically defined by a number of categorisations, notably Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder & Body Dysmorphic Disorder.

Whether someone has been given a diagnosis or not in relation to how they are feeling they very often, having become aware of their stress, anxiety, feeling of unease or pain then carry around in their minds and bodies what could be broadly referred to as two lists, things that they want and things they do not want. Someone may be consciously aware of their own lists, or not, but regardless of their conscious knowledge these lists still have a significant impact on their day to day life.

The impact they have is that they motivate people towards either avoidance of or disappointment with any activity which they believe relates to items on their list. The two lists, hopes and fears, or what they would like to do and what they are fearful of doing, then become uncomfortable areas of life. It is not unusual for the items on these lists to increase as time goes by. In the mind associations are developed which add further items to these lists, it could be activities, places, things or almost anything. 

As the personal distress of the snowballing situation increases, it is then that the ‘ I wish I did’ or the ‘ I wish I did not’ comments begin to resonate even more loudly in the mind. It is then as someone dwells on the subject or event even more, that the first ‘ I wish’ or ‘ I wish not’ begins to stimulate further  ‘wishes’ or ‘wish nots’ that may not even seem to be linkable consciously to the original thought, event or activity but have been made so in the mind of the thinker.

In reality a considerable amount of Stress and Anxiety for people revolves around these two lists of

a) What they want & b)  What they do not want.

I often refer to these lists as a) Hopes & b) Fears.

These lists may seem at first as if they cannot possibly encompass so much. The hope someone wishes to fulfil or the fear they wish to rid them self of, or avoid, can often be however the compelling reason that ultimately motivates people to take action to resolve a personal issue of significance.

Hypnotherapy & NLP are excellent techniques for resolving such issues. The most suitable one for someone’s personal situation would always be based on what they say during our discussions. The important aspect is that all of the techniques available are incredibly effective and rapid in providing assistance with an individual’s hopes and fears.

I realise and respect that individuals may not wish to reveal any detail about the issue they wish to work on. The techniques I use do not require individuals to reveal any detail they do not wish to. I am trained in specialist techniques that will allow anyone to get the outcome they want without having to tell me a single thing about it, should they not wish to. At all times the individual working on their personal hope or fear is in full control of the process that is being undertaken.
