Panic Attacks

People may experience different symptoms duringĀ  panic or severe anxiety attacks. Some people experience high levels of anxiety for hours or even days whilst others will have shorter intense experiences.

Some of the most common symptoms associated with a panic attack include sensations of a shortness of breath, dizziness, a racing or pumping heart, physical shaking, profuse sweating, sensations of choking, nausea, stomach discomfort, chest pains and even feelings that one is going to die.

If someone experiences a number of these symptoms then it is likely that they are experiencing a panic or anxiety attack. It is essential if someone is experiencing chest pains that they are examined by a medical professional to ensure that there are no physical reasons for their symptoms. It is preferable that a medical professional examines anyone who is experiencing any of the symptoms to ensure that there are no physical reasons for their condition.

People, with continued anxiety or ‘stress’, may also experience a more generalised set of symptoms that are generally less intense and less time sensitive but are none the less still unpleasant experiences which may include often feeling uneasy or on edge, being easily startled, having lapses of concentration, undue irritability, restlessness, muscle tension and becoming easily over tired.
